Nomi Pilates + Beyond is a chic, boutique style studio, fully equipped with BASIL manufactured equipment, just as the original used by Joseph Pilates. We also offer a variety of yoga, ballet barre and cardiobox classes designed to provide a supportive environment for all ages and stages of expertise. Our skilled instructors proudly teach Joseph Pilates’ approach to physical fitness – one that engages the mind and focuses on building a healthy, injury-free body.
With Pilates beginners, Naomi or any of our skilled instructors analyze your movement patterns for any functional or structural problems, and then develop a program specific to your needs. To achieve strength and flexibility you will be working with a variety of equipment such as the Reformer, the electric chair, the ladder barrel and Cadillac tower. Our strong focus on muscle movements will allow you to create a well-balanced body with elongated muscle groups that are toned and firm.
Nomipilates offers small 4-5 person classes and focuses more on private and semi-private instruction as this is the way Joseph Pilates taught his Method. Emphasis is on quality and proper form and our hands on approach ensures the client learns safely and correctly to get the most out of the sessions.
Naomi Weyrowski, Owner of Nomi Pilates, Certified Pilates Instructor, PMA Certified
Born in Israel and raised in Kingston, Jamaica, Naomi is one of a triplet, and from an early age appreciated dance and fitness. After moving to Miami at the age of 5, she began tap, jazz and ballet classes. Her approach to fitness and Pilates is one that surpasses expectations. Fun, fresh and energetic, Naomi teaches each client individually with an infinite passion and works to help achieve specific goals. Whether you are taking an advanced or intermediate class, Naomi lays out modifications and focuses on the person in front of her not memorization or an order.. each move is selected deliberately based on the student’s body. Naomi began working toward becoming a Pilates Teacher Trainer in 2003 and every year has been climbing towards the top to find the best of the best and the highest peak of her mentors. Her role models include Brooke Siler, Dorothee VandeWalle, Jay Grimes, Kathy Ross Nash, Mejo Wiggins, Peter Fiasca. All have been trained by Joseph pilates himself or Romana Kryzanowski. Naomi continues her path in weekly training with Bridget Haygood, Level III certified Romana Kryzanowski and enjoys attending workshops around the world. Naomi is certified & recognized by PMA Studio (National Pilates Alliance).
A Native Miamian, Misty spent her youth outside climbing trees and chasing lizards. From a young age she was involved in athletics and arts and developed a life longpassion for the outdoors, fitness and nutrition. After graduating from University of Florida with a degree in advertising and photography, she worked as a photojournalist and fashion photographer. Misty, however, spent most of her career in front of the camera as a model and actress working in Miami, New York and Los Angeles. She then took on her most challenging and rewarding job – mom of two little girls. After having children, Misty began to practice Pilates and was immediately drawn to the discipline’s versatility and mind-body connection, which led her to become a certified Peak Pilatesinstructor. Misty’s favorite thing about teaching is sharing energy and knowledge with her clients. Her approach to training is to uplift and motivate while challenging her students to attain their individualized goals.
Katy is both a student and a teacher of yoga. In between yoga asanas, Katy is also a medical anthropologist, a doctoral candidate at the University of Alabama, and an instructor at Barry University. Her knowledge of healing systems and human biology influence her yoga practice and teaching. Born and raised in the Kentucky backwoods, but having traveled the world extensively, Katy brings a well-rounded, open-minded classroom atmosphere, but with a “down-home,” southern hospitality twist. Her yoga practice has been shaped by many powerful teachers. Her first experience with yoga was with a student of Dharma Mittra in Alabama where she did her first teacher training, and later Dharma Mittra himself. Katy has practiced many other types of yoga as well including, Anusara, Ashtanga, Bikram, Jivamukti, Kripalu, and Viniyoga. Since 2007 Katy has studied primarily Iyengar yoga, and is continuing her education in the Dharma Mittra and Iyengar traditions. Katy regularly attends workshops and classes to stay on top of innovations in the world of yoga and alternative health.
Yoga became a way of life for Paola eight years ago when she was pregnant with her second son. She suffered from a lot of back pain due to unbalanced postures and poor leg circulation as a consequence of a childhood accident. She found Yoga and never looked back; her body became aligned and her suffering eased. Paola feels the improvements to her body were enhanced by the benefits of the joy, compassion, love, clarity that flourishes all around from practicing yoga. Paola is a certified Yoga Instructor by the Miami Yogashala with Fred Busch and Paul Toliuszis; trained in Vinyasa Flow, Power Yoga, Restorative, Massage for Yoga, Yoga for Kids; also certified in Prenatal Yoga with Michelle Fonte. She has participated in workshops with Duncan Wong, Brian Kest, Allaine Stricklen, Terri Cooper and recently finished an Advance Teacher training with Kino Mc Gregor, Peter Barber, Ken Von Roenn III and others directed by Paul Toliuszis at Green Monkey.
Dito Sudito, born and raised in Indonesia, took his first ballet class at the Academy of Ballet in San Francisco. He fell in love with the art form and moved to NYC to pursue his dream as a dancer. He was accepted as a scholarship student at the Joffrey Ballet School, and later performed with the school and co-directed one of the intensive programs. Dito ventured into the modern dance world by joining the critically acclaimed, HT Chen and dancers, as a soloist. He also danced in the musical “King and I” and appeared in Law and Order: SVU, as well as commercials, nationally and internationally. Coreography™ was created out of Dito’s passion for performing and teaching. The idea originated out of a dance piece he performed utilizing a stick. As a dancer, he realized how important it is to be flexible and to have strong core muscles. He found that the stick was an excellent tool for performing exercises that challenge, support, and strengthen the core muscles while developing greater flexibility. Alexandra Santos is a devoted and passionate practitioner and teacher of the traditional Ashtanga method who found her path to Yoga when pregnant with her first child. Soon thereafter Alexandra found herself practicing every day and began to deeply study the fascinating layers and intricacies of the Ashtanga Yoga method. Alexandra felt the need to share the message that transformed her life. She has traveled to Mysore, India to study at the KPJ Ashtanga Yoga Institute and has flourished into an inspiring and giving teacher. Alexandra offers engaging classes allowing students to experience the completeness of Ashtanga yoga. Alexandra offers precise direction to individuals and teaches how to build strength, and is insightful into the tenets of yoga while teaching posture, alignment, and breathing.
